See why the Toyota Camry is a better midsize sedan than the Nissan Altima!

650 × 500?

Crossovers certainly get a lot of attention thanks to their size, price tag, and cargo capabilities, but there are still drivers on the road who like being low to the ground and in a sedan. If you prefer the sedan lifestyle, but want more space, we suggest going with a midsize option, like the Toyota Camry!

Of course, it's not the only midsize sedan you can buy or lease, and today we're going to compare our 2018 Toyota Camry to the 2018 Nissan Altima.

We'll start with performance, which is something you can expect to find once you hit the midsize sedan segment, as these models are often aimed at shoppers who are no longer young professionals and have more funds to spend on pep and power.

Both the Camry and Altima have a V6 option, but the Camry's has 301 horsepower, compared to the Altima's which is 270 horsepower. You'll really notice difference when you want to let loose. Both models have a 2.5L base engine, but the Camry's is also stronger and has 203 horsepower, compared to the Altima's 179-horsepower engine.

Although we don't tend to carry them at our dealership, the Camry also has a hybrid variant and the Altima does not. If you want to drive around the Freehold, Howell, Old Bridge, Englishtown and Matawan areas we serve in extra-efficient style, then let us know and we'll track down a Toyota Camry Hybrid for you to test drive.

Wow Factors

Hit up the higher Camry trims and you'll find some luxurious amenities and technologies. We love the heads-up display, the booming premium speakers by JBL, and there's even a snazzy wireless charging pad for your smartphone. If you really want those passing by to stare, get the XSE Camry trim that has an available Cockpit Red leather interior that's too good to pass up.

The Altima also has a premium speakers system, but it's standout features are really the Apple CarPlay™/Android Auto™ smartphone integrations and front and rear parking sensors. Nice, but not much in the way of a wow factor.

With its stronger engines and more high-end features and pizzazz, it's clear that the Toyota Camry is the winner. Stop into our dealership this week to test drive one!
