To say that Toyota caused quite the stir last week at the 2017 North American International Auto Show in Detroit could well be the understatement of the year. You see, while industry buffs and “everyman” consumers alike knew that an all-new 2018 Camry was to be unveiled at the show, we would argue that no one was prepared for what actually sat beneath the sheet.
That is, a visually riveting new ride that appears to be a far car from the conservative aesthetic of Camry models past.
Sitting lower, wider, and longer, the 2018 Camry rounds out its athletic new look with sporty accessories such as its aggressive bumpers, mesh grille inset, rear lip spoiler, and rear diffuser. The XSE trim differentiates itself and polishes its look even further with 19-inch black machine-finish alloy wheels.
Granted, there’s more to the model than meets the eye – aside from alterations of the cosmetic variety, the new Toyota brings forth a new 2.5-liter inline-four paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission, in addition to a 3.5L V6 offering, and a hybrid alternative.
